an atmosphere of startling questions, subtle insights, and wild ideas draws out new words and wisdom from all who
participate. The group will work together to evoke and understand the many manifestations of a woman's power. For
all dangerous women (and daring men!). Dangerous Women Residency Package: The "What Makes a Woman Dangerous?" performance can be combined with other Magical Rain productions and workshops that examine dangerous women, including "Maldiciones de La Malinche" and "La Llorona Dolorosa". La Malinche and La Llorona are clearly "dangerous women" in Latino culture. In these figures, whose images and stories are often intertwined, a spectrum of women are portrayed: the young virgin, the beautiful woman, the intelligent, competent woman, the articulate woman, the impassioned lover, the enslaved woman, traitress, seductress, the Great Mother, the self-sacrificing mother, the abandoned woman, the enraged, insane woman, murderess, the grieving mother, the old & broken woman, the haunted spirit... |
